We acquired the majority of his photo collection after his passing. The No. 22 car seen here was prepared by A.J. Watson, one of the most celebrated car builders in Indianapolis 500 history. The 1978 Indianapolis 500 was won by Al Unser Sr. driving the Chaparral-Lola, with Tom Sneva and Gordon Johncock rounding out the podium.
